![]() The Bachelor of Arts (Acting for Screen and Stage) is the only acting degree in Australia that provides an equal amount of focus on acting for the screen as it does for stage performance. Working with a team of industry professionals in both screen and theatre production this acting degree has not only state of the art single and multi-camera studios and facilities but a course structure that provides for the Acting, Design for Theatre and Television and the Television Production courses to run in tandem. This inter-relationship of course content, lecturing expertise, state-of-the-art theatre and broadcast quality facilities, ensures that each student is able to learn and practice their craft inside a tailor-made industry aligned curriculum. The acting degree also boasts an on-campus studio theatre, a city playhouse - the Riverina Playhouse and access to the Civic theatre for the staging of its many theatre productions through the University Theatre Ensemble. The three-year acting degree is an ideal professionally focused actor training centre geared for industry practice satisfying a diversity of needs and application for the future. The course is taught by dedicated professionals with a wide range of industry experience. They are committed to the business of theatre and/or television, and are specialists in either acting (camera or stage), voice, singing or movement. All staff also have wide experience in directing, ranging from mainstream to experimental, from the classics to realism. A visiting artist program brings professionals of national and international repute to work alongside staff and students, supplementing the skills of the regular staff. Contextual studies are taught by specialists in screen and theatre studies, and students also have regular contact with lecturers from the Television Production course.
