Vena Cava productions, established in 1995, is the resident student theatre company of the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. Vena Cava is proudly administered by students, for students and continues to uphold a strong mission to provide members with practical experience both onstage and behind-the-scenes. As a learning company, Vena Cava is able to support students' passion and talent for performance-making in the areas of performance, scriptwriting, set design, sound and lighting operation, general administrative duties and more! Works by Vena Cava extend across all theatrical forms and styles: from traditional text-based theatre, to the avant-garde. For thirteen years, a dedication to innovative performance-making has driven this company to its vast popularity within the QUT community. Currently, the majority of Vena Cava productions are held in the Woodward Theatre, Queensland University of Technology, Kelvin Grove Urban Village (pictured below).
